Man kennt das ja, lauter Leute followen einem und man weiss nicht, wieso. Dann stellt man fest, dass der Typ einigen tausend Leuten folgt, ihm aber nur eine Handvoll folgen wollen. Der Schluss liegt nahe, dass diese Person versucht, durch massives Followen selber Follower zu bekommen. Ab einer gewissen Masse von Followern wird es unübersichtlich und es kann durchaus sein, dass einige eher zweifelhafte Leute durchrutschen, die einen dann zum Dank mit eher spammigen Links versorgen.
Twitter Twerp Scan von Carlo Zottmann, der Jabber-Community nicht ganz unbekannt, soll da Abhilfe schaffen:
It’ll check the number of followers of everyone on your contact list, the number of people they are following, and the ratio between those. If the person is following more than 1000 people (can be customised), and has a Following-to-Followers ratio higher than 1:1 (can be customised), you’ll be informed (by a “Block” link).
Das klingt gut, hat aber bei mir nicht mal im Ansatz funktioniert. Da der Dienst noch sehr Beta ist, setze ich Twitter Twerp Scan quasi auf Wiedervorlage.
